1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using WebGISMaps ("Application"), users acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to comply with these Terms of Use.
Access to the Application is granted solely for authorized business, educational, research, planning, operational, or other approved purposes as determined by WebGISMaps.
Users who do not agree to these Terms must not access or use the Application.
2. Purpose of the Application
WebGISMaps provides access to Geographic Information System (GIS) resources, maps, spatial data, imagery, reports, analytical tools, and related information maintained by WebGISMaps.
The Application is intended to support authorized activities involving mapping, planning, research, asset management, environmental analysis, operational decision-making, and geographic information sharing.
Access to the Application does not transfer ownership of any data, maps, software, or services.
3. Authorized Use
Users may:
- Access maps, imagery, reports, and spatial information for authorized purposes.
- View, query, analyze, print, and export information where permitted.
- Use WebGISMaps tools to support planning, research, operational activities, and decision-making.
- Share information internally when permitted by WebGISMaps policies and applicable licensing agreements.
Users shall:
- Use the Application responsibly and lawfully.
- Maintain the confidentiality of account credentials.
- Protect sensitive and restricted information.
- Comply with all organizational policies, security requirements, and applicable laws.
4. User Responsibilities
Users of WebGISMaps are responsible for ensuring that their use of the Application is lawful, ethical, and consistent with these Terms of Use.
Each user agrees to:
- Provide accurate and current information when registering for or maintaining an account.
- Use WebGISMaps only for authorized purposes.
- Protect login credentials and prevent unauthorized access to their account.
- Maintain the confidentiality of any restricted, sensitive, or proprietary information accessed through the Application.
- Verify data suitability before using information for operational, business, planning, engineering, or decision-making purposes.
- Respect intellectual property rights and data licensing requirements associated with maps, datasets, imagery, and related content.
- Promptly report suspected security incidents, unauthorized access, data breaches, or system vulnerabilities to the WebGISMaps Administration Team.
- Ensure that any data downloaded, printed, shared, or exported from the Application is handled in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Use reasonable care to avoid actions that could impair the availability, integrity, or performance of WebGISMaps.
- Comply with all applicable federal, provincial, territorial, state, local, and international laws governing the use of geographic information and online services.
Users are solely responsible for all activities conducted under their accounts and for any consequences arising from misuse of the Application.
5. Acceptable Use Policy
WebGISMaps is provided to support authorized access to geographic information, mapping services, spatial analysis, and related resources.
Acceptable use includes:
- Accessing maps, data, and services for legitimate business, educational, research, planning, or operational purposes.
- Viewing, analyzing, and printing geographic information as authorized.
- Downloading or exporting data only when permitted by WebGISMaps and applicable licensing agreements.
- Sharing information with authorized individuals or organizations in accordance with approved policies and data-sharing agreements.
- Using available tools and services in a manner that does not interfere with the operation or performance of the Application.
- Citing WebGISMaps and applicable data providers when using maps, reports, or datasets in publications, presentations, or reports.
- Reporting data quality issues, technical problems, security concerns, or suspected misuse to the WebGISMaps Administration Team.
- Complying with all applicable laws, regulations, privacy requirements, and organizational policies.
Users must exercise professional judgment when interpreting, sharing, or relying upon geographic information obtained through WebGISMaps.
6. Prohibited Activities
Users must not:
- Use the Application for unlawful activities.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems, data, accounts, or services.
- Circumvent security controls or access restrictions.
- Modify, damage, disrupt, or interfere with the operation of WebGISMaps.
- Introduce malware, malicious code, viruses, ransomware, or other harmful software.
- Redistribute, resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit data without authorization.
- Harvest user information or collect data beyond approved purposes.
- Misrepresent data or maps as official information after modification.
- Use automated tools to overload, scrape, or compromise the Application without authorization.
Violations may result in suspension or termination of access and may lead to disciplinary, civil, or criminal action.
7. Data Ownership and Intellectual Property
All maps, datasets, imagery, reports, software, logos, graphics, documents, and related content available through WebGISMaps remain the property of WebGISMaps or the respective content owner.
Users are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and use the Application for authorized purposes only.
No ownership rights are transferred through use of the Application.
8. Data Accuracy and Disclaimer
WebGISMaps strives to provide accurate and current geographic information. However:
- Data may contain errors, omissions, inaccuracies, or outdated information.
- Geographic boundaries and spatial representations may be approximate.
- Information may be revised, updated, or removed without notice.
- Data should not be relied upon as the sole source for legal, engineering, surveying, navigation, emergency response, regulatory, or property boundary determinations.
All information is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
9. Privacy and Monitoring
Use of WebGISMaps may be monitored, logged, recorded, and audited for security, compliance, maintenance, and operational purposes.
Information that may be collected includes:
- User account information
- Login activity
- Access logs
- Device information
- Browser information
- IP addresses
- Usage analytics
By using the Application, users consent to such collection and monitoring as permitted by applicable laws and regulations.
10. Protection of Sensitive Information

Users shall:

- Reporting suspected security incidents immediately.
WebGISMaps reserves the right to suspend access where security risks are identified.

Such content:

- Remains the property of the respective provider.
- May be modified or withdrawn by the provider without notice.
- Is provided without additional warranties by WebGISMaps.

13. Availability of Service
WebGISMaps does not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Application.
WebGISMaps reserves the right to:
- Modify features or functionality.
- Perform maintenance and upgrades.
- Restrict access when necessary.
- Suspend or discontinue services with or without notice.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, WebGISMaps shall not be liable for:
- Direct damages.
- Indirect damages.
- Incidental damages.
- Consequential damages.
- Loss of data.
- Loss of revenue.
- Business interruption.
- Decisions made using information obtained through the Application.
Users assume all risks associated with their use of WebGISMaps.

Termination does not eliminate ongoing obligations regarding confidentiality or protection of information.

Updated versions may be posted within the Application, communicated through organizational notices, or published on the WebGISMaps website.
Continued use of the Application following publication of revised Terms constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
